   In order to reduce costs, the Japanese technology firm Sony announced that it will close its smartphone factory in Shanghai (China). The decision is due to the increasing losses in its mobile division and its low financial and operational performance in this area.

Through a statement, the Japanese company revealed that cell production at the plant will stop at the end of this month and that later it will only operate its manufacturing point in Thailand for this purpose.


  "Through greater cooperation among our divisions, we can create new value by better utilizing combined assets and personnel in our electronics area. Greater interaction among employees will also lead to the development and growth of our staff, " said company spokesman Takashi Iida.

The technology also revealed the restructuring of its business lines, announcing the integration of the mobile phone unit within the image and television division , as well as the creation of a new area called Electronics Products & Solutions.Earlier this year, Sony declared that it will not attend - for the first time in its history - the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), the largest gathering of the video game industry in the world.
